On February 18th, 2020, Transurban launched GoToll in the United States, a new mobile app that lets drivers in Virginia pay for tolls in real-time, using just their smartphone. The GoToll launch includes an informational landing page that features a custom animated video scripted, illustrated, and produced by Beyond Definition.
This new app is centered around convenience. In a world where there’s an app for just about everything, making tolls payable through them makes sense. Transurban understood that creating convenient ways to pay for tolls is essential to its customers, especially for drivers in the second most congested region in the United States – Washington, D.C. and its surrounding areas. Transurban’s research showed that 80% of Virginia drivers were interested in a mobile app for toll payments and 65% were more likely to increase driving on toll roads if they could pay using a mobile app. Beyond Definition made this convenience factor come to life through simple illustration in a video, which follows a driver through the GoToll steps on the road.
Beyond Definition’s team produced the video end-to-end, including writing the script, custom illustrations, and animation to help potential GoToll users understand how easy the app works to effortlessly pay for tolls from your phone.
Today, videos capture audience attention better than still images or text. According to Medium, video generates 1200% more shares than both images and text – it is the most engaging type of visual content. Even further, a recent Cisco report predicts that in 2020, 82% of all consumer web traffic will be to view video content.
Integrating video into your marketing campaigns or website is a must in today’s digital age. With the average viewer remembering a whopping 95% of a message when it is watched, as opposed to only 10% when read, video is the obvious choice when getting a message out to an audience.
